Update

There is a lot a lot going on in Vickers life right now, I thought I should pop on here and write a quick update.

SO first up, make sure you keep your eyes peeled in the shops for both Bliss magazine - where Diana is the cover star, as she so rightly deserves! - and Attitude magazine - where Diana is not the cover star, but I think her name's on the front so you can make sure you have the right issue. Bliss magazine features a 6 page (I think) interview with Miss Vickers and some lovely photos, including one of her and boyfriend George, cuties! And Attitude has a full page interview quizzing Diana on how gay she is, always good to know.

Next up, Diana is going on a regional radio tour all next week so if she comes to somewhere near you, make sure you bob down and visit her! She's releasing the dates and places on her facebook or twitter so keep an eye out. So far she's announced Monday's and Tuesday's radio stations but says she'll do more throughout the week.

Diana is on a photoshoot as we speak for Notion magazine, I don't know a lot about this magazine but as I found out more I'll update. She looks beautiful though - check her instagram/twitter for photos and videos.

Music to Make Boys Cry

Just a quick message, Diana announced yesterday during a Twitter Q&A that her second album 'Music to Make Boys Cry' will be released on September 15th this year. Finally 'soon' has a set date, and after so long waiting this will be so worth it.

Give Out Girls - WRAPPED

Aw, yes it's official, Diana has finished filming for new Sky Living series Give Out Girls! She got some lovely looking flowers, and an equally lovely looking bottle of champagne to celebrate the end and had a leaving meal last night with some of the cast.

The Year of the Vickers

I would just like to express how completely and utterly proud I am right now, to call Diana Vickers my idol! 

 

Diana has admittedly been quite quiet over the past couple of years; people assumed she'd disappeared completely, given up on music, when in actual fact she's spent these few years working her butt off to create a new sound for herself that is truly hers and to try her hand at other talents!

 

She's spent a lot of time in studios writing for other artists as well as for herself, and recording her new material alongside beautiful covers. She's designed clothes for Very, done a spot of presenting on shows such as Blue Peter and The Crush, filmed for an upcoming TV series and landed her very first acting role in a film. She's supported Olly Murs on his Summer shows, which she will also be doing this year, she has been confirmed for T in the Park and V Festival, with hopefully more announcements on the way. Her 4th single Cinderella will be released on 21st July, with the music video surfacing today! Her long awaited second album will be released in September this year, and will most definitely be worth the wait!

 

Throughout the time Diana has been slightly out of the public eye, she has made sure to keep in contact with her fans, via tweets, Q&As, small intimate gigs, and making sure she keeps us as up to date as possible.

 

It's been a rollercoaster journey for her to reach this point, but finally things are coming together for her!

 

2013 is clearly The Year of the Vickers.

Miss Vickers is officially BACK.

Diana debuted her new music video at midnight, continuing with the Cinderella theme.

There's not a whole lot I can add about the video itself, I think it really speaks for itself. Diana looks absolutely beautiful, and appears a lot more confident than people may have been expecting. She's come a long way from the nervous 16 year old she was on The X Factor.

I genuinely wish Diana all the best with this single, it certainly has the potential to do well with the right sort of backing, and considering Diana has an incredibly loyal fan-base, this shouldn't be an issue.

Behind the Scenes

I will admit when I saw this video pop up on Vimeo, I thought they were going to be behind the scenes of Diana's Cinderella music video shoot. Sadly that's not the case. However, this is still a pretty sweet video.
Diana did some secret filming at the start of 2012, which no one ever saw anything from since except for a few pictures. Well, this is the most we've seen so far in the form of a behind the scenes video. Click here to watch. Diana is currently on a shoot with Bliss magazine, so make sure you keep an eye out for when that reaches the shops! She also did a photoshoot with Top of the Pops magazine recently which should be out soon too.

 

A quick heads up also that Miss Vickers will be on Matt Edmondson's Radio 1 show tomorrow morning. The show is from 10-1 but we don't know exactly what time Diana will appear yet. Make sure you tune in!

Give Out Girls!

According to multiple online sources, Diana is going to be acting in a new 6-part comedy series on Sky Living, called Give Out Girls.
She will play a promotions girl, alongside Kerry Howard and Tracy-Ann Oberman!
We don't know a lot about the show yet, but sure more details will be revealed very soon!

This song found its way onto twitter recently, and you can hear Miss Vickers singing at 4:00 and 5:12.
There has been no mention of this track by Diana herself, and no recognition from the band that Diana is singing, which is a bit odd.
But here you go anyway!

Main Points

The new album will be out this year. (Summer time)
She's had a change of direction.
She has been inspired by the 80s, Robyn, Kylie
First single has been chosen and is finishing being mixed
She has had visual meetings about the music video
She has a lot of her own input
She knows for sure what sort of artist she wants to be now (and says the reason she stopped after three singles was because she was confused about what sort of artist she was)

Overall, Diana seems very confident about where things are going.

Things are happening

Diana is back at her old school today (although, has also had to pop into hospital as she's not feeling great - once again, get well soon!) for her gig and to open the school's new music department.

The Perfect Wave

Last September Diana flew off to South Africa to film for a small independent film - The Perfect Wave. It is based on Ian McCormack's real life story and you can read more about the plot here. Diana's character's name is Kim and while it seems like she only has a small part (as she doesn't appear in the trailer, which you can watch here.) it's still an exciting time!
